Uncover Liverpool is a complete ‘what’s on’ guide to arts and culture in the city and the region, where everyone can find out what’s coming up from the latest exhibitions, gigs and theatre to workshops, family days out and festivals.
Uncover is a project by Open Culture, an independent social enterprise that aims to encourage engagement with the arts by providing a comprehensive guide to Liverpool’s cultural scene where everyone can find and share events, news and opportunities.
The key goal for Uncover Liverpool is to encourage people, especially those who might think the arts is not for them, to get involved in the cultural offer we have here. We want all content on the site to be:
Who you Are
Please note that while we hope to introduce paid writing opportunities in the future, this is currently not possible. Our plan is for Uncover to eventually become self-financing, and once we’re at this point we are aiming to begin commissioning writers to create articles.
We’re looking for writers who love the region and its arts and culture; that’s about it.
You don’t have to be a published writer to write for us; if you love writing but haven’t got anything out there in the world for us to read, just send us something you’ve put together, or written for uni, or for any other purpose. If it’s arts and culture-focused, that’s even better, but anything is fine as long as it gives us an idea of your writing style.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for writers to produce articles and features relating to what’s happening in the city; gigs, theatre, music, exhibitions, one-off events, all that good stuff. Most features will be in the region of 3-500 words, but if you have an idea for something a bit longer we’d love to hear that, too. We’re keen to hear from people who have passion and something to say.
You can write as many or as few articles as you’d like, as little or as often as you can.
We’re looking for people on an ongoing basis so there is no deadline; we’re just looking for anyone and everyone who has a talent for writing and wants to build their portfolio.
If you’d like to be involved, drop us an email to [email protected] and introduce yourself.
