Halton Borough Council commissioning an artist (or artist team) to create a large-scale temporary artwork for the windows of Runcorn Library (September), with a smaller follow-up piece displayed at Widnes Market (October–November).
The project celebrates Halton’s often-overlooked architecture—inviting people to look again at the beauty already in their everyday surroundings.
This is part of Halton’s Heritage Open Days 2025, with funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The selected artist will lead community engagement and co-creation activities, including workshops and public submissions.
What’s involved:
- Delivering 2–3 creative workshops (venues provided) in August
- Working with submitted photos, sketches, or digital designs from the public
- Designing a striking, site-responsive artwork for Runcorn Library
- Creating a simplified or adapted version for Widnes Market
Eligibility: Open to artists based in the North West
Fee: approx. £2,500 (includes workshops, production, and installation)
Closing date to apply: Monday 11th August, 12 noon
