PopUp Painting is the leading ‘social painting’ experience in the UK. We run events in bars, restaurants and workplaces across the UK, and have painted with 50,000+ people.
During events guests (mostly novices) are guided step-by-step through a painting in a fun, lighthearted manner. Guests are encouraged to grab a drink, unleashing their creativity wine glass in one hand, paintbrush in the other!
This role is perfect for anybody in the visual/performing arts or events looking for flexible work to fit around their creative practice, or looking for a creative role to add to their day job or studies. They provide all materials needed for your event.
They are looking for people to join their new team in Liverpool to take up a combination of Artist and Event Manager work. At most events you will be fulfilling either role, but may do a combined role on occasion.
Artists:
- Guide 15-50 guests in a fun, accessible manner using acrylic in under 2 hours
- Set up / clean down
- Must be confident in public speaking – mics are provided
- Preparation of demonstration canvas before events
- Weekend and evening availability is essential, with most events Weds-Sat evenings, and Saturday/Sunday afternoons.
Event Managers:
- Need access to a car and storage for event equipment
- Set up / clean down
- Responsible for ensuring the quality of the event and an excellent customer experience, introducing the event and team
Pay is per event (3-4 hours) as follows: artists – £70; Event Managers – £60; combined role – £90. In addition support roles are paid at £35. This contract is freelance/self-employed, and is equivalent to £25,000 pro rata. Where transporting kit, expenses are paid at the HMRC rate.
You can expect to work 4-8 events a month.
Successful applicants will be invited to interview, including a 10 minute ‘audition’ where you will show how you might guide guests through a simple painting.
