Creativity is central to exploration in both art and science. And as we wonder, and attempt to understand our worlds and the universe – and hence ourselves and humanity – categories can, and perhaps should, become blurred. As the great science-fiction writer Arthur C Clarke said: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”.
Artists are invited to bring their own creativity and imaginations to consider this broad theme. They are keen to receive proposals which involve the creation of new book art. In addition, in recognition of LBA’s 10 years of exhibiting, we are also happy to receive submissions of already created artist’s books, including relevant works shown by LBA in previous years.
Liverpool Book Art’s long-standing collaboration with Liverpool Central Library continues in 2024. The exhibition will open there on 3rd September in the magnificent Hornby room, and run until the end of October.
The formal application process is now open on http://www.curatorspace.com/ which includes full details of how to apply, selection dates, and timetable for delivery. The Call closes on 27th May 2024. NB This is the deadline for proposals, not completed works!
