Following a successful pilot year, arts organisation Collective Encounters is seeking applications for its Radical Makers training programme in participatory theatre, which will start this September.
Radical Makers is a free part-time year-long emerging artist training course and is suitable for those who:
– are aged over 25
– live in Merseyside or the Liverpool City Region
– are interested in making theatre with people
– are not able to get onto a formal drama or arts course
– want to make a career in community theatre
– want to make a difference in their community
– have around 8 hours a week free from September 2020
The course is COVID secure and involves a blend of learning in your own time and online, to suit each individual participant.
Full support to get online is included in the course, as is the necessary technology and internet access for those who don’t already have it. All students receive one to one mentoring and career guidance, and nationally recognised qualifications.
Previous participants have gone on to form their own theatre companies, be activists in their own communities, make films, and have their writing performed.
