Artists – SUMMER VISION, closes 27 Apr

Intact are looking for an artist to develop and deliver a Eurovision themed community arts project with the residents of Ingol & Tanterton (Preston).

Starting Saturday May 13th and culminating in a live performance at SUMMER VISION, a free community event on June 24th.

Starting on Saturday May 13th as a Eurovision Final watch party, our artist/s will lead a series of creative workshops over 6 weeks, culminating in a live performance at SUMMER VISION, a free community event on Saturday June 24th.

They expect their artist/s to develop and deliver a schedule of creative activity, whether that be performance, visual art, dance, music etc. Residents as a result of attending these workshops will star in a performance/showcase at SUMMER VISION which you will facilitate and direct.

*Artists can apply for a commission of up to £5,000.*

Ingol & Tanterton sits in the 10% most deprived postcodes in the country. Our stats show an increasing demand for our services. People have multiple issues affecting their quality of life; many suffer from anxiety, depression and loneliness, with nothing to do and nowhere to go.

SUMMER VISION aims to build skills and confidence through creative practice, using Eurovision as a tool for celebrating diversity. Residents will have ownership and a platform to share their voice. In tumultuous times of economic hardship due to the cost of living crisis, SUMMER VISION aims to act as a positive indicator for looking forward as a community, building bridges, social cohesion, developing new transferrable skills regardless of age, background, disability or employment status.

To apply please submit a proposal (PDF Document or Video) that outlines:

Why you are interested in the commission

Project Plan: What you plan to deliver and how you believe it to meet the project’s
needs.

Three examples of past work/projects you think demonstrates how your practice fits
this brief.

How much you are applying for (no more than £5,000).

Supplementary Artist CV.

Deadline: 10am, 27th April.

Please email your proposal and CV to Rob Gregson robert.gregson@intact-preston.org.uk
