Tameside Culture is looking for an organisation to support their winter carnival lantern parade taking place in November 2021.
They are looking to recruit an organisation with previous experience of organising parades and working with the community to:
- Interpret this year’s theme of Northern Lights
- Create three or four elements linked to the Northern Lights theme for example large lanterns, dance or music with the local community
- Provide general content for the parade for example existing lantern structures, dance or music.
Fees
The total fee available is £24,500 dependent on a successful Arts Council England bid for Northern Lights- Tameside Winter Carnival. Artists are being contacted prior to a successful bid application to meet current procurement guidelines and to assist on writing the bid.
What is Northern Lights Tameside Winter Carnival?
The 2021 Northern Lights event will take place in November in Hyde Town Centre, Tameside.
Following from the 2019 event with the same theme, Northern Lights will be a spectacular lantern parade, which weaves through Hyde’s streets accompanied by music and dance.
The event will culminate with the parade entering the main event square, which will be programmed with a variety of dance and musical acts during the day, for a traditional Christmas lights switch on event.
The 2019 event attracted roughly 5,000 spectators including over 1,000 people participating in the parade.
