Arts Emergency is a grassroots movement that opens doors for underrepresented young people with creative ambitions, by connecting them to each other and to a network of thousands of creative professionals. Founded in 2013 by comedian Josie Long and activist Neil Griffiths, the organisation has helped over 2,200 young people in the UK access and thrive in creativity and culture by providing a long-term combined programme of mentorship, networking and real-world opportunities.
Arts Emergency is looking for professionals working in arts and culture to mentor the next generation of creative talent in Merseyside!
Volunteer mentors support bright, ambitious 16-18 year olds by sharing their knowledge and experience, and opening doors to education, training and opportunities. Mentoring pairs meeting once a month for 12 months and work on anything from confidence building to writing personal statements or creating portfolios.
You’ll receive training, support throughout the programme and event and meet-up opportunities.
No qualifications required just an enthusiasm and belief in levelling the playing field in the creative sector for young people without access or connections.
