Assistant, Music – Arts Council England (North West hybrid working), closes 10 Oct ’25

You will be providing administrative support to the Director, Music and Senior Manager(s), Music/Music Industry as well as other members of the wider national Music team.

Main day to day responsibilities

You will be providing administrative assistance to the Director, Music and Senior Manager(s), Music/Music Industry, servicing and event-managing internal and external business meetings (including meetings of the Music Growth Package Advisory Group) and co-ordinating administrative processes: collating and distributing agendas and papers, note-taking and following-up on actions, and providing support for cross-team working groups and other committees, as required.

You will provide personal assistance to the Director, Music, promoting optimal use of time by coordinating meetings and making travel arrangements and ensuring that the Director is well briefed in advance.

You will be undertaking research, gathering and disseminating information, and running administrative support systems for the team: including workload planning, supporting data collection and data reporting to inform decision making processes, and record filing and archiving in line with our policies.

You will be providing support to the team’s administrative procedures: responding to queries from applicants on music programmes, raising purchase orders and contracts, reviewing information on our finance and other relevant systems and processing payments as requested, as well as team communications and stakeholder management.

You will support the team’s role in assessment and grant management, liaising with the Senior Manager, Music Industry and the Investment Centre and facilitating decision meetings.

You will be the first point of contact for the national Music team, responding to queries and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including setting up and coordinating on-line (and occasionally in person) meetings of our external Advisory Group.

You will combine your ability to plan and prioritise with a flexibility and curiosity to work beyond this area of work, on occasion contributing to areas outside of your daily responsibilities.

You will contribute to a positive working culture in the organisation by taking a proactive approach to learning, responding to change, inclusive practice, and environmental responsibility. ·
