dot-art have announced their Autumn Programme of Creative Courses. Treat yourself to a creative course or art workshop in an inspiring Liverpool location with dot-art. Discover your inner artist, try something new and develop your skills across a range of fantastic venues: The Bluecoat, The Reader, FACT, Baltic Creative and dot-art Darkroom.
All of their courses are organised events in COVID secure venues. If dot-art is unable to deliver a course, course participants will receive a full refund, so you can book with confidence today.
After 18 months, they are delighted to be back at their original course venue The Bluecoat, where they have been delivering creative workshops since 2011! They will be starting with Sundays in the city centre and you can enjoy 3 week courses in Life Drawing, Abstract Art and Drawing for Everyone, as well as single day workshops in Introduction to Cartooning and a returning favourite – Festive Feltmaking!
At FACT on Monday evenings they will be holding their popular course in Drawing Techniques; as tutor Sarah-Jane says, no matter what medium you enjoy using, be it paint, pastel or clay, learning the essential drawing techniques will magnify your creative ability, followed by a 10 week Portrait Drawing course on Tuesday evenings. Finally they have a 3 Sunday workshop, Digital Embroidery, where you will learn how to create designs from scratch and digitise sketches and photographs for embroidery machines.
Their ever-popular dot-art Club for creative children now has two locations; The Reader at Calderstones Mansion in South Liverpool from 4-5.30pm on Wednesdays and Baltic Creative from 10.30am-12pm on Sundays. These sessions for 10-13 year olds run in six week blocks, with the next ones starting on 12th and 15th September. Every week young artists will be encouraged to develop their drawing skills and build a lifelong love of art under the expert guidance of artist Brigitte Watkinson.
Also at The Reader, they have the popular 10 week Tuesday evening course in Textile Arts, creating a range of nature based items using felting, stitching, sewing and printing and a 10 week afternoon course in Landscape Painting. Learn about Illustrating Inspiring Quotes with Madeleine Pires over 3 Saturdays, or try your hand at Cyanotype, an Introduction to Chinese Painting or a mindful Walking / Drawing session in their single day workshops.
Finally, they are delighted to be reopening the dot-art Dark Room! They have a 1 day Introduction to the Darkroom workshop to learn to process your own negatives, and an Analogue Weekend, where you will be taken through the whole process of shooting, processing and developing your own black and white film over 2 days.
Don’t forget, for experienced photographers and those who have completed one of these courses, they also offer Darkroom Membership. Members have unlimited access to the space via their online booking system and can also choose to book it with a technician if they need a little more support.
