Wired Aerial Theatre is searching for an enthusiastic, skilled and diverse range of Board members to steer and support the organisation.
Wired is funded by Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation, and specialises in creating inventive aerial productions with the use of flyable set pieces as well as performer / animation interaction. They also consult with directors / choreographers and celebrities to enable them to make aerial productions/events.
Invention and creativity forms the basis of all work they do, whether that is within higher education or for larger scale productions. Wired tours both nationally and internationally and is recognised as a leader in aerial performance.
Creating and maintaining an effective Board culture is vital to Wired to ensure good decision-making, healthy debate and challenge as well as setting the tone for the organisation. At Wired they want to cultivate a diverse Board with members driven by creative thinking, honesty, professionalism, reliability, and considered risk taking.
They are ideally seeking people from a range of diverse backgrounds who are based not too far away from Wired in Liverpool.
They are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in Diversity and Inclusion, Marketing and Communications, Finance, Fundraising, Legal Matters and Performing Arts to support the company as it responds to COVID19, with plans to emerge stronger and more effective going forwards. Some experience of working with refugees would also be valued.
This is a voluntary role but if you feel that this may be a barrier to your involvement they are able to offer a fee for your time at £25 per hour to attend meetings and £15 per hour for travel.
Candidates should:
- Demonstrate an eagerness to be involved with Wired Aerial Theatre
- Understand their responsibilities and act with due care, diligence and skill
- Be able to publicly advocate for Wired Aerial Theatre
- Be an advocate for diversity and inclusion, which lies at the heart of all we do
