News from Nowhere are looking for two workers to join their collective (currently all women) to share all tasks and responsibilities in running a busy high street business. There are two positions available – one 36 hours / week (including frequent weekends), and one 16 hours / week (including some weekends).
News From Nowhere is a long-established radical & feminist bookshop, run on a not-for-profit basis by a workers’ co-operative. The business is managed by the workers collectively and all workers are paid the same rate of £9 / hour, or the Living Wage.
NfN are looking for someone who ….
• Wants to be a bookseller
• Supports radical & feminist politics
• Can work carefully & accurately
• Is committed to working collectively
• Will have a long-term commitment to the job – i.e. it would be your dream job, and you would ideally want to stay forever!
They especially encourage women who are Black, Asian or from other ethnic minority groups to apply.
