The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Liverpool is back! On Sunday 26 May tens of thousands of runners will once again take to the streets of the city, and Open Culture and the Rock ‘n’ Roll team are looking for amazing local acts to volunteer to perform along the route.
With music or performance at every mile of the 26.2 mile distance, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is a fantastic opportunity to have your music heard by thousands upon thousands of people – runners, their families, friends, and the spectators that come out to cheer them on. The marathon gets bigger every year, with well over 20,000 runners taking part across the weekend in 2018.
What they’re looking for
The team are looking for a mix of music and performance that will wow the runners and keep them motivated throughout the race – for past races they’ve had a mix of singer-songwriters, rock bands, choirs, dancers, drumming groups and even ukulele bands so whatever your act is, they want to hear from you!
Primarily, upbeat music that people might know and can sing along with works best – you might even get a runner to stop and dance for a minute before they take on their next mile.
There is also the opportunity to play along the route of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool 5k on Saturday 25 May. Indicate on your application form if you would be able to volunteer your time on this date.
All stages are supported by a quality PA and stage manager / technician.
How to Apply
The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 31 March 2019.
