Collective Encounters is a professional arts organisation specialising in Theatre for Social Change and since 2004 has worked with marginalised and disenfranchised communities in Merseyside.
In 2018 Collective Encounters successfully secured funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to establish a Centre for Excellence in Participatory Theatre comprising of a Emerging Artist Training Programme for adults from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and a national Participatory Theatre Training Network.
We are seeking an exceptional individual with a commitment to excellence in participatory theatre to lead on the development and delivery of the Emerging Artist Training Programme. This programme is open to those over 25 in Merseyside with little or no background of traditional arts based education, and who have an ambition to develop a career in the creative industries or use creativity as a tool for positive social impact. The aim of the programme is to develop participants’ theatre facilitation skills and grow their understanding of radical theatre and ethical practice.
The Emerging Artist Training Manager will be responsible for a bi-weekly programme of theatre facilitation training workshops, action learning sets, an annual masterclass programme and ongoing mentoring of participants.
