Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive calendar of events and activities that promote inclusivity and enhance the sense of belonging for student groups, including international students, postgraduate students, and commuting students.
Develop and deliver a series of events designed to welcome students at the beginning of their time at University and celebrate their success at the end of their time.
Develop and deliver the annual welcome programme.
Collaborate with student representatives, societies, and relevant university staff to gather feedback and input on event ideas and programming.
Liaise with the university centres in Birkenhead and Warrington to ensure the delivery of inclusive events and activities in those locations.
Provide a point of contact and expertise for the organisation of events within the Students’ Union.
Coordinate and manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue booking, equipment, catering, and budget management.
Work closely with the Communications Officer to promote events through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and student platforms.
Provide support and guidance to student volunteers and society members involved in event planning and delivery.
Monitor and evaluate the success of events and activities, gathering feedback from participants and using data to inform future programming decisions.
Collaborate with other departments within the Students’ Union and University of Chester to identify opportunities for cross-functional events and initiatives that support the wider student community.
Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in event management and student engagement to ensure the delivery of high-quality, relevant experiences.
