Storyhouse in Chester is the country’s most exciting new arts building and organisation.
The £37m theatre, library, cinema and restaurant is part producing theatre, combined arts organisation and inspirational library, which opened in May 2017. We also run events such as Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, Moonlight Flicks and Chester Literature Festival.
They are looking to appoint an additional Creative Learning Practitioner to create, lead and manage workshops with children in local schools.
As Creative Learning Practitioner, you will create, lead and manage workshops with children in local schools; your creative expertise will define our new programme of schools’ residencies.
Your working week will include one day of time for planning; the rest of your week will be spent in schools delivering creative workshops planned by you in collaboration with the teachers.
You will need to enjoy creating fun, inclusive environments for children to develop theatre skills, build confidence, work creatively with other young people, and learn from creative professionals.
The role will suit those with substantial experience delivering performing arts and creative learning for young people, ideally within formal education.
The role will be based at up to 4 different schools 1 day per week each and 1 day planning at Storyhouse, Chester.
Candidates must be willing to complete an enhanced DBS and obtain a chaperone license.
Interview date: Thursday 28th November. In school workshop: Tuesday 3rd December.
