The team are looking for 10 creative practitioners from various disciplines to support young people to realise a creative project for The Future Is Ours Festival 2021
You will be matched with a young person interested in creating an artwork or creative project and support them to create a piece that is meaningful to them and expresses a message to the world. The final artwork can be any medium with the opportunity for visual work to be displayed on electronic billboards around Manchester. All word will be launched and celebrated during The Future Is Ours Festival in October 2021.
You will meet with young people online and/or at The Horsfall in Ancoats, Manchester at times to suit you and the young person during August and September with final deadline for work 23 September 2021. The process will be supported by a mental health practitioner from 42ndStreet and there will be a training induction ahead of the initial meeting with the young person.
You and your young person will be able to access funds up to £400 to ensure the young person’s vision is fully realised. Last year the projects included an art magazine, billboard poster designs, creative non-fiction zine and a live art experience. They are interested in working with creative practitioners who want to co-create work by taking a young person-centred approach and support young people to express themselves and their unique voice.
