The region’s largest table top gaming centre is hosting a 24 hour gaming marathon in aid of local charity, Age UK.
The epic Dungeons & Dragons event will take place at Crit Hit on Kempston Street in Liverpool on Friday 20th August at 5.30pm and will be streamed live on Twitch — providing viewers with a highly entertaining watch whilst raising awareness and money for a great cause.
Dungeons & Dragons is one of the most popular table top games in the world and the intense and immersive game usually takes three hours to complete, however this special event will involve a 24 hour marathon being filmed live on camera. It is known as ‘the ultimate role playing game’ with a group of friends taking on the roles of heroes that they have created.
The event will be played by a group of gamers, including Crit Hit owner, Andrew Coventry, and a ‘Dungeon Master’ who will be responsible for writing the story, building the world, keeping track of combat, creating puzzles, managing the players, organising the event, and even giving voices to all the goblins. During the event, a Twitch moderator will also take comments and questions from the audience.
Donations can be made via the donation page or via the Twitch live stream during the event and all money raised will go to local charity, Age UK. The Wirral based charity provides some vital services to older people in the region, including walking day trips, IT support and shopping, and is a crucial operation to bridge the gap in society — often helping isolated and lonely people.
The ground breaking event will take place in Crit Hit’s amazing new V.I.P games room; recently opened as part of the venue’s expansion plans. The gaming hub attracts players from all over the region and beyond for larger events and further expansion plans are to follow, including a new roof top bar currently in construction.
Crit Hit owner, Andrew Coventry, said: “Our gaming hub has really grown over the past few years, both online and as a centre, due to the ever increasing popularity of gaming. We’ve just opened a V.I.P room and we’re also building a roof top bar, but now is the time to give back and this event is going to be incredible!”
He continued: “Dungeons & Dragons is a really fun, immersive game and it’s really exciting to watch as well as play. A 24 hour marathon like this is quite something and viewers can expect lots of laughter, fun and an epic adventure as well as an expert insight into the game. To combine this with raising awareness and money for an amazing charity is perfect!”
The ground breaking charity gaming marathon will take place on Friday 20th August 2021 at 5.30pm and for anyone wishing to donate can do so via their donation page or via the Twitch livestream during the event. Crit Hit is open to everyone, from new gamers of experienced, and has a policy of no membership, entry fee or hourly rate.
