Mancunian singer-songwriter Dave Fidler is pleased to announce a brand new album for 2019: ‘Songs From Aurora’, out this spring on 27.27 Records.
Twelve tracks from a master journeyman, the titles that form his new collection are imbued with warm memories of an eternal summer and dusted with tales that can only be told from heady days on the open road.
Blending intimately-told, warmly-inviting stories with arrangements of a hushed majesty, fans of Crosby, Still & Nash, Nick Drake and Dylan will find much to enjoy on ‘Songs From Aurora’. From the gently epic country-tinged opener “On The Line’” to the lilting harmonica-led lullaby of “Eternal Road’”; the bluesy railroad reminisces of ‘Will I Ever Learn?’ to the pure harmonies and swelling folk pop of “Skylark” and “Breeze”.
Fidler’s latest sees the artist step-up to deliver a masterclass in pared-back and pure songwriting. The painterly pieces transport the listener into his world, evocatively telling tales of performing to a Haitian women’s prison, to getting perilously trapped beneath a collapsed house in the midst of a Los Angeles earthquake.
