Chetham’s is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Development Manager to work across all fundraised income streams, particularly Trusts and Foundations, and support the development team in reaching ambitious fundraising targets.
Based in the heart of Manchester, Chetham’s is home to the UK’s leading music school; the oldest public library in the English-speaking world; and The Stoller Hall, a world class concert venue.
Chetham’s is a registered charity (526702) and raises funds through a variety of different sources including Grants, Individual Giving, Corporate and Legacies. The development team consists of four full time members of staff who are responsible for fundraising across all areas of the organisation.
The Development Manager will lead on all T&F activity as well as supporting the Development Director in all aspects of fundraising to include Major Donors, Patrons and Corporates. This varied role involves relationship management for a range of donors, comms, T&F strategy and applications as well as administrative support.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in a fundraising role, excellent communication and written skills, be highly personable, confident and tenacious with a commitment to all areas of fundraising. Experience working in a similar arts organisation, a track record of securing gifts of over £5,000 and knowledge of database systems is highly desirable.
