The Living City
Creative / artist commissions £200-£1000
Short deadline – 8 May 2020
Are you a creative practitioner from any discipline living or working or originally from a PR postcode?
The brief is very simple: it needs to digitally respond to the idea of change, what is lost and what is found, either taking us for a walk or staying home, ideally encountering and engaging with other members of your community.
The Commissions
They Eat Culture are looking to commission creative interpretations of their public engagement programme ‘Take us for a walk’ and also around the idea of ‘staying home’, thinking about what we lose and what we find in our new normal. This might mean how you experience where you live, the effects of loss of touch or freedom of movement, the closure of places we love, the disruption of economy, routine, ritual, community, meeting. The idea of change and opening doors to new beginnings. Why things matter and what they mean to you. How we want those new beginnings to come into shape.
Things to remember
They are looking for a range of projects from £200 to £1k. TEC won’t commission more than 2 at £1k. Ideally, your work will engage with at least 1 non-arts practitioner / members of your community. This is a must for commissions over £200. TEC are open to proposals from individuals, collaborators, companies but be aware of costs – day rate info is below. You need to ensure you are paying attention to social distancing measures & keeping yourself and others safe.
Deadline for the first round is May 4th 5pm for proposals under £500 and May 8th for proposals up to £1k.
