The overall aim of the project is to uncover, explore and interpret stories relating to the important role Hope Mill has played for local people during its 200 year life span, including its pivotal place at the heart of huge industrial, social and cultural revolutions.
Overview of role
The evaluation specialist will be required to support our teams in developing an appropriate evaluation framework and action plan for the project, with supporting materials (e.g. questionnaires; interview prompts; other approaches). They will ensure that the project team, front of house staff and volunteers have the necessary understanding, guidance and confidence to carry out effective monitoring and evaluation of the project.
They wish this framework to draw on and align with their existing systems and processes as far as possible, to maximise efficiency and the value of the data collected.
Elements of the programme that require a bespoke approach include:
- formative evaluation: throughout the project we aim to harness community ideas, insights, responses and preferences in shaping the content that is produced and that will live on in exhibition and digital content
- differing approaches are required to reflect different depths of engagement in/association with the project e.g. some family audiences may simply attend a Big Birthday family fun day; a small group of volunteers is expected to contribute considerable time and effort to carrying out detailed investigations
- we wish to find appropriate ways and metrics for assessing changes in how local people perceive Hope Mill, after engaging with the project
Project activity will run from 10 July 24 to end March 25(8.5 months). The evaluator will be required to work flexibly throughout this period and this will be negotiated with you on appointment, bearing in mind your other commitments.
Expected approx. 12 days over an 8-month period
Fixed fee is £4,800 inclusive of VAT and expenses
