FACT Liverpool has identified a role for a senior finance person, to be responsible for ensuring that our financial function is effective and efficient and provide strategic and financial guidance.
FACT’s Financial Manager works three days a week and is responsible for all day to day financial functions – Xero, payments, preparation of management accounts, VAT, payroll & pension processing, budget profiling through the year, etc.
The Finance Director will work with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head of Business and Operations (HBO) and the Finance Manager (FM).
Key Responsibilities
● understand the overall finance picture and provide challenge and insight
● guide financial forecasting – modelling outcomes of and cashflows for asset
purchases, business development, expansion and diversification plans
● review and advise on tax compliance (including VAT, PAYE), tax relief (including
Museums and Galleries Tax Relief) and financial support schemes
● advise on strategic and annual planning processes
● Support and review the implementation of financial systems, processes and
procedures with the Finance Manager recommending refinements to current
processes
● advise on capitalisation policy
● analyse and advise on key success factors and KPIs for income generating activities
(including video production services, space hires, and ticketed events) and support
a culture of accountability and delivery
● review and where necessary recommend refinements to financial systems and
processes
● preparation of annual statutory accounts with the support of the Finance Manager
● annually review standing financial instructions
● coach and mentor the CEO, HBO and FM to improve financial planning and
reporting
Person Specification
This role will suit someone with a strong background in finance, who has carried out an Finance Director role or equivalent, and who ideally has had experience of charity and small business sectors.
