Showcasing the best new music is at the heart of why Future Yard exists. It will be your job to ensure the most exciting new and established talent – across a range of genres and styles – is playing the venue; whether that be as part of national tours, standalone shows, on our festival or all-dayer bills or underage matinee shows.
Working within our Live Department you will programme and curate live music events, with a particular focus on working with booking agents to secure national and international touring artists. You will have a deep passion for new music and be immersed and well connected within it.
Future Yard values diversity and the importance of representation on and off stage. You will be responsible for ensuring that there is balance and inclusion in Future Yard’s programming. You will help us provide a platform for marginalised bands/artists and fulfil our ongoing KeyChange pledge of a 50/50 gender split.
This is a unique opportunity to join the team at one of the UK’s most exciting new music venues. Since fully opening in the summer of 2021, we have played host to artists such as Gruff Rhys, OMD, Black Country, New Road, Nubiyan Twist, Shame, Melt Yourself Down, Bodega, Steve Mason, Arab Strap and many more, with a programme encompassing the best in contemporary alternative, jazz, electronic and experimental music.
Future Yard is committed to providing a range of pathways for local young people to develop the skills needed to embark on careers within the live music industry. You will be passionate about passing on your skills to the next generation and embrace the culture of exchange and skill sharing on which Future Yard is built.
