The purpose of this post is to manage all aspects of FACT’s Artistic Programme, in its five distinct yet interrelated strands: Exhibitions, Learning, Public Programme (including film, talks, tours, workshops), Talent Development, and Research. The post holder will lead and motivate FACT’s high-performing Programme team, working collaboratively to develop and deliver an ambitious interdisciplinary programme that sits at the crossroads between art and technology, and responds to contemporary developments in society, technology and science.
Working with the Director/CEO, he/she will be responsible for developing opportunities for extending audience reach and impact, raising FACT’s profile, and maximising resources for programme, through activities that include partnerships, co-productions, research projects, and touring. The post holder will be part of FACT’s Leadership Team – together with the Director/CEO, the Head of Operations, and the Head of Finance – and as such will contribute effectively to the strategic and operational management of the wider organisation.
There are three key objectives to the role:
- To lead the Programme team to develop and deliver a cohesive, relevant and stimulating programme of contemporary and media art and film that is recognised in Liverpool, nationally, and internationally, together with an integrated learning programme, talent development strategy, and research activities.
- To actively contribute to FACT’s Leadership Team and to the strategic and operational management of the whole organisation.
- At a moment of organisational transformation, to drive change and actively lead and contribute to FACT’s culture, ethos and working dynamics.
