You will be in charge of Liverpool’s three prestigious City Halls – St George’s Hall, Town Hall and Croxteth Hall. You will strategically and tactically direct all operations and activities that take place, so that City Hall venues are shining examples of commercial and operational excellence, underpinning the City Plan.
You will have overall accountability for City Halls operational delivery, sales, marketing, customer experience and commercial performance. Whilst you will directly oversee St George’s Hall activities, you will also ensure that Town Hall and Croxteth Hall operations are aligned, creating a centralised and standardised approach to delivery.
You will understand the importance of positive team culture and how you can drive and influence this, as you lead and inspire a large team to deliver exceptional service and commercial results, across a broad portfolio of events and activities.
To be a great fit with the team, you’ll be friendly and ready to really get stuck in, without being afraid to drive transformational change.
The successful applicant will:
- Be an adaptable people and business leader who can implement structure, whilst regularly flexing and problem solving.
- You will be able to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- You will set clear objectives, timelines, goals and targets for the City Halls team, cultivating and utilising skills and strengths where they will add most value to the business, across all venues.
- You will have a strong commercial acumen, balancing operations and budgets across multiple activity strands.
- You will work closely with the Sales and Venue Operations team to develop an annual programme of commercial activity across the three City Halls, identifying new products and innovative income streams that will grow the bottom line.
- Processes are at the core of operations; you will weed out work-intensive processes and unnecessary admin so that operational performance is prioritised; you will identify automated solutions by using appropriate digital technology.
The needs of busy venues are fluid; working in this role is not a 9am-5pm / Monday to Friday role. You agree to work flexibly over a 7 day week when required, which may include unsociable hours, weekends and bank holidays; this will be allocated on a roster basis. This role is not Agile and you will be required to be predominantly based in the work place.
Whilst your primary place of work will be St George’s Hall, you agree to work flexibly across Liverpool Town Hall and Croxteth Hall to support the delivery of scheduled activity when required.
As a direct reflection of their business, you will take personal pride and maintain a high standard of professional appearance whilst on duty.
