Knowsley Council’s Culture Development and Events service are delighted to advertise a new Heritage Apprentice role funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. In 2022, Knowsley becomes the Borough of Culture. This title is awarded by the Liverpool City Region to each of the Merseyside authorities and is a fabulous opportunity to celebrate the cultural offer in each area. The theme for Knowsley is storytelling – ‘stories of people, places and magic’ and our year coincides with the opening of Shakespeare North Playhouse. This apprenticeship is a key role within the Culture Development and Events Service to support the delivery of the heritage outcomes for Knowsley’s Borough of Culture (BoC) year in 2022 and the lead up to this
Key responsibilities for the role: Company overview:
- Must be able to complete an apprenticeship framework to support the delivery of the heritage outcomes for Knowsley’s Borough of Culture and the lead up. Digital marketer / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
- To support with the development, co-ordination and delivery of the heritage activities and outcomes as set out in the ‘Activity Plan’ for Knowsley’s Borough of Culture Year 2022.
- To support the development of the culture, heritage, community and voluntary sector in Knowsley
- Work closely with the Culture Development and Events Heritage Team to recruit volunteers to the Borough of Culture programme and the ‘Activity Plan’ as part of the National Lottery Heritage Funded project.
- Input and retrieve information using computerised office systems.
- To support with social media strategies to maximise publicity and participation in Borough of Culture events
Key skills to be successful in your application:
- Qualifications required/predicted: minimum level 2/GCSE Grade 4 and above in Maths and English
- The post is attached to gaining a Digital Marketer qualification (ST0122) over 18 months.
- Flexible approach to working from home and good motivational and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Working as part of a team, and using own initiative.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn.
- Knowledge of heritage projects
- Knowledge of digital media campaigns
