The Royal Voluntary Service is looking for volunteers to assist patients at home after being discharged from hospital surgery or being generally unwell.
Tasks include shopping support and assistance, light household tasks, accompanying patients to appointments, befriending and social inclusion.
The role is an important role, to assist people to remain at home and prevent from returning to hospital. Volunteers will be working alongside a team of volunteers and their families, social work teams and other local authorities. Open to applicants aged eighteen and above.
Required education, skills and qualifications
None all training is provided.

Royal Voluntary Service will mentor all volunteers to ensure they are supported within their role. All mandatory training is provided.
Volunteers will be entitled to claim all expenses occurred during their daily roles. Uniform is provided. Volunteering is an excellent way to increase experience whilst candidates are studying at University, all students are welcome to apply.
Applicants are also welcome if you are looking to get out and about, socialise and you have retired from your current job and would like to help others.
This role is a committed role to support our service users, the support is to prevent re-hospitalisation.
This role doesn’t have a minimum working pattern, the role is to be suited to your convenience, but may involve weekends.
