As part of QueerChange, a joint partnership project between Milk Presents (Midlands), Homotopia (North West) and Curious Arts (North East), three early-career producers will be supported to develop their practice and make new connections.
The purpose of this project is for producers to practically meet and develop relationships with a range of LGBTQIA+ artists. We’ll give the successful producers a chance to have an insight into the process of running a festival or company, and refer many artists we come into contact with that are looking for a producer towards the successful producers.
We will be focusing a lot on performance, but also on participatory arts, visual arts and other art forms.
QueerChange is offering each producer:
- A £770 stipend over the course of a year to cover time attending queer arts events and training (equivalent to approx. 7 days)
Travel expenses and accommodation additional to the stipend - A programme of development workshops on fundraising, marketing and project management
- Introduction to our networks of artists, including Homotopia’s QueerCore artists
Applicants must fulfil the following criteria:
- Define as LGBTQIA+
- Live in the North East, North West or Midlands
- Be at a key stage in your producing career where you want to connect with new artists to support their and your development
Homotopia strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds including those who identify as QTBIPOC, ethnically diverse, deaf, neurodiverse and/or disabled.
Please do contact alex@homotopia.net if you have access needs around your application.
