Kindred is seeking its first Independent Chair of the Board to significantly enable the creation and growth of Liverpool City Region’s (LCR) social economy and contribute to achieving an inclusive economy in the city region.
The Chair will be an independent ambassador for their vision, values and priorities. You’ll collaborate and engage with diverse stakeholders about the work of Kindred, led by the experience and needs of socially-trading organisations (STOs) in LCR.
They are seeking someone who has a commitment to the social economy and STOs, though is not directly involved with STOs in LCR.
The Independent Chair will work with Kindred’s senior leaders to develop Kindred as a Community Interest Company (CIC) from its first year of operation.
That will include appointing a new Board and team by autumn this year, working in partnership with LCR Combined Authority, Power to Change and a network of 200+ STOs.
The role is expected to start from summer 2021, taking over from the Interim Independent Chair who has overseen the set-up of Kindred during 2020/21, alongside Kindred’s Core Team and an Interim Board.
For more information on the role and how to apply take a look at the candidate pack. You’ll also find an equal opportunities monitoring form, which you’ll need to submit with your application.
Apply by email to WorkWithUs@kindred-lcr.co.uk. The deadline for applications is 5pm on 31 March 2021.
The interview will take place on 4 or 5 May, and will be confirmed nearer the time.
