Baltic Creative CIC is seeking to appoint two new board members in 2022. We are keen to ensure we have the vision, capacity and skills to oversee the next phase of our ambitious and inclusive growth plans and continue to sustain the Creative and Digital sector in the region.
Baltic Creative was established in 2009, with the ambition to support the growth of Creative & Digital industries in Liverpool, through the development of property. Through a sector-led, community ownership model we now manage 120,000 sq./ft of space, supporting 180 companies and 650 jobs. We have been the catalyst for the regeneration and establishment of the Baltic Triangle area; and the place for the C&D sector in Liverpool to prosper.
In 2020 we changed our Memorandum & Articles, broadening our concept and remit to cover the Liverpool City Region’s six boroughs. Our ambition is to own and manage 500,000 sq./ft across the region by 2026 supporting 600 companies and 3,000 jobs.
This change also allows us to offer remuneration to Board members. The aim is to attract a wider, more diverse pool of applicants. We are particularly keen to hear from younger applicants and those from black and ethnic minority backgrounds. The directorships offer a payment of £2,400 per annum and coverage of other reasonable expenses, including care responsibility costs.
About the Role
Board members attend four meetings per year and participate in the life and culture of the organisation and community. This may include supporting the management team and advocating for the sector in an inclusive and positive way. Board meetings are currently held on the last Tuesday of the month in January, April, July and October. They normally last 2 hours.
We are looking to fill two roles focused on property and place. Experience and commitment to the creative and digital sector in our region is essential. Please refer to the Job Description and if relevant, include your experience or skills, focussing on property and place, area development or regeneration.
The term of the role is for 3 years, with an additional 3 years renewable in agreement with the board.
How to Apply
If you are interested in the work we do and think you could make a positive influence on the C&D sector and our organisation, please apply by submitting the following documents to info@baltic-creative.com by Monday 16th May 2022:
- A one-page covering letter referring to the Job Description and Person Specification
- A CV, maximum of two pages

We will invite shortlisted prospective board members to meet our Chair, Fiona Armstrong-Gibbs, and other existing board members the week commencing 23rd May via Zoom.
