Lead Officer Arts – Wigan Council, closes 23 Jan

The role will support the implementation of the five-year cultural manifesto. It will involve you developing arts activities, projects and events across Wigan in partnership with key organisations and groups to increase participation and community involvement.

Working out of The Turnpike, the role will also support artists’, enabling them to develop their practice and connecting them with opportunities and their peers.

You will be a positive advocate for arts and culture in the borough, linking communities with wider cultural opportunities that develop education and skills, improve health and wellbeing, enrich the environment and advance and promote the arts in Wigan.

About you:

You will be self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic with a strong knowledge of the cultural sector. You will have the ability to work as part of a busy team but also independently using your own initiative. With excellent people skills and an ability to build rapport and trust, you will be a confident communicator.

You will bring creativity and imagination to project development, with experience of setting realistic objectives that achieve positive outcomes. You will take ownership of your work and actively seek and implement a solutions-based approach to any problems.
