Learning and Community Manager – Norton Priory Museum and Gardens, closes 23 Aug ’26

Norton Priory Museum and Gardens is one of the region’s leading visitor attractions. The 42-acre estate holds 900 years of stories, which the learning team harnesses to create and deliver engaging sessions and workshops, aimed at schools, families and adults.

Their small staff team is supported by volunteers, who assist in all aspects of their work, from learning sessions to gardening and maintenance tasks, They are seeking a Learning and Community Manager to develop and maintain our learning and volunteer programmes, maintaining excellent customer satisfaction for sessions and workshops, whilst providing an enjoyable and mutually beneficial experience for volunteers.

As Learning and Community Manager, you will be expected to lead the small team, whilst also enhancing existing sessions and developing new ones. You will be an active member of their Senior Management Team and will be proactive in embrace opportunities across the site. You’ll bring knowledge of the National Curriculum with a keen interest in making innovative sessions the core of their offer for young learners and students.

For adults, you’ll be building and promoting a range of traditional skills and art workshops. Alongside this, you will be responsible for developing Norton Priory’s volunteer programme, working with the team to identify volunteering opportunities and growing the number of active volunteers.

You’ll be a positive person who is keen to make a difference and to find new ways to share Norton Priory’s heritage with audiences. This role brings opportunities to work closely with the Senior Management Team and to use indoor and outside spaces to provide a backdrop to learning and volunteering opportunities with a difference. Interviews for this post will be held on Tuesday 1st September 2026.
