The Space In Between, a new exhibition of collaborative photographic work by Liverpool-based artist Ruth Dillon, opening 7 November – 6 November 2026 at St George’s Hall.
Developed with people navigating recovery from substance misuse, the project explores identity, working-class representation and cultural authority, asking what happens when communities move from being the subjects of photographs to becoming authors of their own narratives.
The work considers the ethics of representation within socially engaged photography, and the possibilities of image-making as a practice of agency, collaboration and self-expression.
