Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Academy Orchestra is for young musicians up to the age of 18, working at grades 4-7 level on an orchestral instrument, from across the North West.
Each year there are two courses in Liverpool providing development and performance opportunities for young people, working with musicians from Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
By signing up to Youth Academy Orchestra you become a member of Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company giving you access to workshops and special projects throughout the year.
What is it all about?
The four-day non-residential courses, based in Liverpool, include full (tutti) rehearsals, sectionals, workshops and a sharing at the end of the course for friends and family.

Participants will receive coaching from Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra musicians and the Youth Academy Orchestra will be conducted by Alex Dunn (In Harmony Liverpool Deputy Artistic Director) and Gethyn Jones (Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra cello).
The experience you will have as part of Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Academy Orchestra will develop your individual and group playing.
You will learn new musical skills from professional orchestral players and your peers, including members of Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. This course will help you to develop greater confidence, both socially and musically, and you will make new friendships with young people from across the North West!
