Liverpool City Council has unveiled an ambitious new strategy that aims to transform the city’s libraries into inclusive, digitally connected community hubs – and they want your input.
The draft Liverpool Library Strategy 2025–2030, launched this week, sets out a bold vision for the next five years, focusing on key priorities such as improving digital access, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring libraries remain central to neighbourhood life.
Spellow, Norris Green, and Allerton Libraries are already leading the way with community-focused activities and increased footfall. The council hopes to build on this model, while also boosting sustainability and expanding services like the Home Library Service.
An eight-week consultation is now live (closes Friday 19 September 2025), inviting residents, library users, businesses and community groups to share their views via an online survey or in person at any of Liverpool’s 14 council-run libraries.
Have your say before the consultation closes – visit the Liverpool City Council website or your local library to take part.
