One of Liverpool’s most popular bars is reopening under new management after closing its doors last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Zanzibar Club on Seel Street closed its doors after 30 years in business back in August 2020, but now one of the city’s largest pub companies has stepped in to save the venue.
Pub Invest Group, which also operates Liverpool bars Brooklyn Mixer, Moloko and more, has confirmed it will be relaunching The Zanzibar Club later this year.
Phil Gillespie, head of marketing for Pub Invest Group said: “Zanzibar was known for its links to the city’s grassroots music scene.
“Pub Invest Group are looking forward to carrying on that legacy giving a space for local bands to share the same space as some exceptional touring acts too.
Plans are in the works for The Zanzibar Club to open in June, following government guidelines.
