Stanley Park, in the heart of North Liverpool, turned 150 in May; designed by Edward Kemp, it is one of his major works, forming part of an important chain of late 19th Century parks in Liverpool.
Due to Covid19 they haven’t been able to come together to mark the event as planned. So, as the year draws to an end, they want to create an online arts project with local residents to celebrate our historic Grade II park in Anfield. They are keen to remember Stanley Park’s past, appreciate its present and imagine its future.
Working with Anfield Councillors they want this arts project to celebrate heritage, nature, sustainability, possible alternative futures and how we’re engaging with the great outdoors in a Covid-19 world.
Their project budget is:
£1000 commission and up to £1000 project budget
Outcome:
They are keen to receive proposals that respond to Stanley Park and address any of these themes: heritage, nature, sustainability and alternative visions of the future. Any art forms are to be considered (visual arts, sculpture, performance, theatre, storytelling, literature, film, photography).
What is important is participatory nature of the arts project as well as online public delivery of the final session.
To Apply:
– Please write a 250-500 word statement outlining your arts project proposal, this will be confidential and not shared beyond the judging panel.
– Short bio including examples of previous community engagement work
