Step Up MCR is launching a new landscape design competition for the creation of a safe and engaging children and family cycle track in Delamere Park in Openshaw Manchester.
Max’s Cycle Trax is to be built as a lasting memorial for Max Rimmer-Chambers in the Openshaw community where he lived. Max was an amazing boy who loved cars, bikes, scooters and quads; he just loved playing with anything that had wheels and went fast.
This project will create a lasting legacy for Max in the community. His family, in partnership with the Friends of Delamere Park, Manchester City Council and Step Up MCR are working together to create a new cycle trail for the local community.
This fits in with the passions of Max as well as links perfectly with the strategic ambitions of Manchester to become a city with cycling at its heart. The National Cycle Centre demonstrates this ambition at a national and international level and Max’s Cycle Trax will provide the connection and step up for the local community to engage with the cycling agenda.
They are looking for creative designs, ambitious visions, and sustainable approaches. Get your creative juices flowing. Get in touch for the full design brief. Budget of £200,000 to include all fees, construction costs etc.
Open Day – Saturday, September 5th, Delamere Park, Openshaw, Manchester 12 Noon to 2PM to informally find out more.
