Media Relations & Press Officer
Salary: £17,500 – £19,000
Full time: 35 hours / week and as necessary to fulfil the scope of responsibilities within the post. This may involve some weekend and evening work.

FACT are looking for an individual to join the Marketing & Communications team to lead on securing media coverage across a range of platforms for FACT exhibitions, community & engagement work and research projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, national and international media
- Contribute to Marketing and Communications strategies, helping FACT to reach its target markets
- Liaise with media and influencers on a daily basis across print, broadcast, online and digital
- Plan and implement dynamic campaigns to promote FACT’s programme
- Write press releases, quotes, briefing documents and press packs
- Explore creative angles for press coverage, mapping out an approach to target a range of press contacts, pitching possible stories to encourage and secure high profile coverage
- Organise and manage press events
- Proactively use social media to generate interest and coverage
- Maintain and develop a press contacts database

Person Specification
Essential
- Highly literate with proven copywriting skills
- A confident and effective communicator
- Evidence of relationship building
- Ability to use social media effectively to reach the media with proven results
- An enthusiasm for contemporary culture, cinema and the arts
- A minimum of two years’ experience of working in a press or PR related role
- A good understanding of the contemporary media landscape
Desirable
- Experience of developing and delivering media partnerships
- Experience within the creative media and/or arts sector
- Knowledge of MAC operating systems
- Existing media contacts and existing relationships with media outlets
