This summer, Tea India will partner with Milap, the UK’s leading Indian Arts & Culture company, to deliver the “Authentically Indian Summer Sessions” – a virtual celebration of Indian arts and culture.
In normal circumstances, Milap would present a year-round programme of Indian arts in London and Liverpool, and throughout ‘lockdown’ have been able to provide much of their high quality content via their online channels.
They feature everything from brand new performances and concerts, through to ‘Try It Out’ dance sessions covering a wide range of Indian folk styles and Q&As with some of the most exciting and interesting practitioners and performers.
The “Authentically Indian Summer Sessions” programme kicks off on Thursday 23rd July at 7pm with a “Music for the Mind and Soul” performance by Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty & Soumen Sarkar with Sarod & Tabla. Milap will continue to present concerts across its YouTube channel every fortnight with artists announced weekly.
‘We are so delighted to be collaborating with Tea India for the “Authentically Indian Summer Sessions”, they are the perfect partner for the programme we have developed; allowing people to have a truly authentic Indian experience through the music we curate and the delicious tea they make. We hope to “Unite Hearts through the Arts”, commented Alok Nayak, Artistic Director of Milap.
This programme will be supported with other virtual content celebrating all aspects of Indian culture. Friday Night Curry Club will be presented by Hari Ghotra; a healing gong bath session with Lara Cocklayne will take place every Sunday at 7pm, weekly Indian film & literature reviews will satisfy your wanderlust accompanied by Indian inspired playlists to enjoy throughout the summer months.
