At the Science Museum Group STEM engagement is at the heart of what they do. They inform, inspire and encourage learning on-site, as well as through outreach and online. They are now recruiting for a Production Coordinator working within the Learning team based at the National Railway Museum in York.
As a Production Coordinator you will provide the production support needed to deliver live and digital events, activities and programmes to a range of museum audiences on and off site. Reporting to Learning Producers and working alongside Senior Explainers, you will ensure that Science Museum Group learning activities and events for schools, families, adults and community groups are planned and delivered smoothly, successfully and safely.
In a typical day you’ll be coordinating and delivering exciting events and programmes to wow audiences and help with the day-to-day supervision of their fantastic team of ‘Explainers’. Their key deliverable is fun, accessible learning experiences for visitors.
To help you do that, you’ll liaise with a range of exciting and dynamic people both inside and outside SMG to ensure our programmes are relevant, innovative, and of the highest standard, alongside excellent training and upskilling opportunities to help you excel.
You will be trained in our science capital-informed approach and will understand how to apply this in practice. You will gain insights into the operations of a large visitor facing team. Your focus will be on administration, planning and production, but where needed you will also be able to support delivery and work directly with museum visitors.
Joining them you will have experience of researching, planning and supporting learning events, activities or programmes for diverse audiences, while possessing excellent customer service and communication skills.
Lastly, you will also have a flexible and proactive approach to work, in addition to existing experience of utilising strong administrative, organisational and time-management skills to provide support for activities for a broad and diverse range of audiences.
