DanceSyndrome are looking for an accomplished and exemplary Programme Director to join DanceSyndrome in 2025 to cover a maternity leave for theirr existing Artistic Director (whose current remit is much broader than a typical Artistic Director within an Arts organisation).
Job Description
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To lead and execute the current Artistic Vision as part of Vision 2030 for DanceSyndrome.
- To work closely with the Managing Director to set the overall strategic direction of DanceSyndrome and to enable future sustainability.
- To manage and oversee our Weekly Company Class, Professional Development Programme, and the development of their Children & Young People’s Strategy with specific line management responsibilities.
- To be the designated Course Centre Manager for our accredited Leadership Training Programme and to set up & oversee future courses. This also includes having line management responsibilities.
- To lead and manage all aspects of the artistic work across DanceSyndrome, including our NPO funded ‘Making Strides’ project.
- To agree fees for artistic work with the Freelance team, and to manage & process Freelance invoices and expenses.
- To work closely with the Project Co-ordinator to support individual Dance Leader needs where there are gaps.
- To manage student placements.
- To identify new funding and partnership opportunities aligned to DanceSyndrome’s long term strategy both regionally and nationally.
- To work closely with the Managing Director to promote and maintain an organisational culture which values the highest standards – both in executing the artistic vision and in management practice.
- To lead, manage and develop the Dance Team and ensure the culture is inclusive, collaborative, safe and supportive; as well as artistically bold and ambitious.
- To lead, develop and manage the delivery of all DanceSyndrome’s ‘Dance’ products and services, working closely with external partners to ensure ‘best in class relationship management and execution of all their work.
