Freelance position – Hours variable dependant on workload.
Starting rate – Dependant on experience.
Location – In-house, Stockport SK4 and/or local remote working.
Costumes with Character is one of the world’s leading Mascot and Costume Character Manufacturers, creating bespoke characters for a wide variety of clients from all sectors including leisure, entertainment, sports, education, corporate, charities and many more across the globe.
The Prop/Pattern Maker’s duties will include:
- Creating character heads and props which are an accurate representation of the design alongside being comfortable to wear, with good vision and ventilation.
- Working to a high standard and within given timeframes using a range of tools and materials. Plastazote, ABS vac formed plastics, faux fur, Lycra etc.
- Excellent skills in patterning with Plastazote foam and creating a 3D character from a 2D design essential.
- Working closely with the whole creative team to achieve a quality product.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a professional prop/costume manufacturing environment.
- Sculpting skills would be an advantage.
- Cutting and sewing skills would be an advantage but not essential.
The interview will require a short workshop skills test.
