Thanks to investment from the Cultural Recovery Fund, Manchester Craft & Design (MCAD) have an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor to join their busy team.
This is a new, temporary, full time role with fixed days to be agreed. The post holder will be expected to work weekends including both Saturday and Sunday. This is a key role for them, helping to keep the Craft & Design Centre open during the COVID-19 pandemic ensuring the safety of their staff and visitors.
Manchester Craft & Design (MCAD) is a registered charity responsible for managing Manchester Craft & Design Centre (MCDC).
They provide studio / retail spaces for c.35 creative businesses, and wider development opportunities for artists and makers at various career stages. Their high-quality exhibitions and events programme promotes regional, national and international craft and design.
Their visitors can be inspired by meeting established designer-makers and stars of the future, explore exhibitions by leading artists, learn new skills at our hands-on workshops and relax in their café.
The Site Supervisor is an important role, a key holder with responsibility for securely opening and closing the building, light caretaking duties and keeping the site tidy.
Duties will also include welcoming visitors, communicating information about the craft studios, answering questions, directing people around the building, leading tours of the historic market building, helping people to engage with the exhibitions and workshops and helping to build their capacity to deliver a memorable visitor experience to encourage repeat visits.
They will also monitor the COVID-19 compliance, maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building, ensure visitors sign up to track and trace and ask them to wear a face mask (unless exempt).
