- Help us reach a wider audience and connect with potential supporters and volunteers.
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your digital skills and creativity to support a meaningful cause. We are looking for an experienced social media guru.
What difference will you make?
The day-to-day challenges faced by those living with dementia often go unseen by the wider world but can be limiting to normal life. Public reaction to their quirks of behaviour, speech or movement may cause those with dementia to become reclusive and reluctant to share in gatherings, leading to social isolation. The objective of Dementia Together Wirral is to provide relief from the social isolation experienced by those affected by dementia and their carers, living across the Wirral Peninsula.
We hold a full calendar of dementia friendly social activities and day trips each month for our members. These activities provide a safe, friendly and supportive community, in which our members can relax and socialise. Not only are new memories made, sometimes old memories are revived, and the connection and friendship with other members and our volunteers is a welcome relief from their social isolation. For the carers, notes are compared and ‘tips or tricks’ and contacts are shared to ease their caring duties for when alone so making life more bearable when coping with those difficult tasks when giving care.
As a volunteer with Dementia Together Wirral, you play a vital role in supporting our charity, and extending our reach across the community we serve. Your contributions will help alleviate the social isolation many of our members experience. Thank you for considering volunteering with Dementia Together Wirral – your contribution will make a real difference.
