Creative Programme
- Leading the Technical and production teams and working closely with creative teams to ensure the safe and smooth delivery of performances, events, and exhibitions.
- Assuming overall responsibility for technical management of exhibitions, screenings, events, private hires, performances, rehearsals, workshops, and technical work.
- Through effective project management maximise the use of HOME’s technical resources.
- Ensuring the timely and safe maintenance, procurement and replacement of all performance, cinema, event, exhibition, and engagement technical equipment
- Managing negotiations on technical riders with touring venues and companies (including non-theatre venues)
- Delivering technical aspects of the delivery of access provision for all art forms
- Overseeing, as required, the engagement of all sub-contractors required for all elements of the performance, rehearsals, and technical aspects of the project
People Management
- Managing and developing the Technical Team. Including proactive management of team delivery, appraisals and ongoing support and development.
- Contributing to programme planning meetings with a particular focus on capacity management, optimal use of resources, sustainability and creative ideas
- Overseeing recruitment of, and contracts for, production and operational staff required for performances, events, exhibitions, rehearsals and technical work
- Manage freelance contracts and ensure the correct finance and HR processes are adhered to.
Financial Management
- Working with the Programme Teams on the creation and management of technical and production budgets controlling financial risk.
- Forecast, manage and reconcile the annual costs of the Technical Department including providing information for Theatre Tax Relief.
- Work to manage risk, workloads and maintain communication with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers as required.
- Manager the company’s storage base and technical assets register.
