King George’s Hall and Darwen Library Theatre are two of Lancashire’s iconic Theatres and concert halls. They host a wide variety of national and international artists ranging from world famous bands to comedy icons as well as a host of local exhibitions and conferences.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Theatre (Stage) Manager based at King Georges Hall but also covering other Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council venues including Darwen Library Theatre.
Applications are invited from professionals with relevant industry experience, operational planning, service delivery and customer management.
Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership and strive towards commercial success maximising profitability and efficient cost control.
A knowledge of working with touring companies, sound and light to a high specification, stage rigging, and excellent Health and Safety knowledge are required.
Management of staff will be a pre-requisite of this post for both internal employees and freelance professionals. You will be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, be forward thinking, adaptable, have the ability to produce reports, conduct risk assessment and deliver training.
The role includes working weekends and evenings is based on 37 hours over 7 days and will work to our annualised hour’s system.
