The Hammond is looking for a Technical Theatre Manager. This is a wonderful opportunity to join one of the UK’s most prestigious performing arts schools.
Job Description
Supporting the get in, get out and build of sets.
Stage management of productions.
Technical operation/ maintenance of theatre and performance studio space –
basic lighting rig, basic sound desk.
Maintaining the loading bay
Maintaining the technical box, pre and post productions
Person Specification:
An appreciation of the performance and production requirements of an elite training institution.
Good working knowledge of technical theatre including sound and lighting.
Experience of managing a medium-sized production, including knowledge of sets and get in/ out procedures.
Excellent people management and leadership skills.
Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
An ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to problem solve.
Dedication to the role, with a hardworking and positive attitude.
Personable, and able to work effectively within a small, dedicated team.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relationships with
external companies/ freelancers.
An ability to maintain the theatre space, identify repairs and renewals.
A proven passion for the arts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work closely with the Production Manager to risk assess a production/ the set and put appropriate risk assessments in place.
The Role
They are willing to accommodate freelance work during quieter times at The Hammond. The deadline for applications is Sunday 13th August. They reserve the right to appoint before the closing date. Interviews to take place as and when applications are submitted.
