Collective Encounters is a professional arts organisation specialising in Theatre for Social Change and since 2004 has worked with marginalised communities in Merseyside.
They deliver place-based participatory theatre projects that grow out of research with those affected by poverty and inequality, tour productions and undertake national and international research in Theatre for Social Change practice.
Collective Encounters is based in Liverpool and is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.
Following successful fundraising from the European Social Fund, Collective Encounters is seeking an exceptional trainer with experience of social engaged theatre practice to work women taking part in a new project, Women in Action.
Women in Action is a multi-faceted project that will use Theatre for Social Change to explore the experiences of women in 21st Century.
The trainer will lead on developing relationships with community partners (mainly Women’s Centres and services), delivering taster workshops, designing and shaping the learning offer and all aspects of the Open Awards accreditation process.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with and in settings for vulnerable adults, an understanding of the community theatre sector and an excellent ability to lead creative activities that build individual resilience, confidence, develop participants’ ability to communicate ideas, work independently and as part of a team and problem solve.
Due to the nature of the project, this opportunity is only open to female candidates.
Available fee: £5,400 (approximately 35 days over a 12 month period inclusive of VAT and expenses)
